Bio
Bob Crawford is a Senior Master Optician with over 40 years of experience in fabricating optics. He is in charge of fabricating large optics ranging in size from 0.5 meters to 3.5 meters in diameter. Recent projects which Bob has completed are a 1.5 meter optical flat for ITEK, a 1.8 meter primary for the MMT considered to be one of the most accurate primaries in existence, four 1.5 meter off-axis parabolas for JPL, a 2.5 meter F/2.2 lightweight primary mirror, and a 1.5 meter reference sphere for a cryo chamber. He is currently working on a program to develop pad polishing techniques for large optical flats.
